  • ‘Rooftop rain water harvesting’ was commonly practiced to store drinking water , particularly in Rajasthan.
  • In the flood plains of Bengal, people developed inundation channels to irrigate their fields.
  • Rain fed storage structures like the “Khadins” and “Johads” in arid and semi-arid regions.
